01 / Our identity
Moment of Truth provides residential and commercial painting services in Brisbane. This policy explains how we handle information shared through this website, inspection bookings and direct enquiries.
Privacy enquiries and requests: hello@momentoftruth.au. Inspection enquiries: booking@momentoftruth.au. We use email for written contact and do not publish a telephone line.
02 / How inspection requests work
The inspection form sends your name, email, telephone, address, suburb, postcode, project scope, optional room and budget details, campaign referral information and chosen time to our booking service in Supabase. Optional photos are stored in a private bucket. Resend delivers inspection emails. A pending time is held for 15 minutes; opening your private email link and pressing Confirm inspection confirms it. Cancellation also requires a private link sent to the booking email. When booking is disabled, requests are not accepted.
Advertising measurement is optional. When Meta Pixel is configured, it loads only after you accept advertising cookies in our cookie panel. You can reject optional cookies or withdraw permission through Cookie preferences at the bottom of the page. We remember your choice for up to 180 days. Google Ads and Google Analytics are not currently active. Meta may receive page views, successful enquiry events and browser information; we do not include your contact details, room description or budget in those event payloads. Campaign referral parameters are retained for the browser session and saved with your enquiry so we can understand its source. Its hosting and access service may process IP addresses, request information and essential authentication data under that provider’s own policies. The website is hosted on Netlify.
03 / Information we may collect
- Your name, email, telephone, property address, suburb, postcode and inspection preferences.
- Project scope, property access details and optional photographs.
- Communications and, if enabled, messages sent to the assistant.
- Quote, contract, service, payment and complaint records where relevant.
- Limited technical and security information needed to operate the site.
We collect information directly from you, or from someone authorised to act for you. We do not ask for identity documents, bank details or sensitive information through the inspection form or chat. You may make a general enquiry anonymously or under a pseudonym where practical; arranging a home visit requires accurate contact details.
04 / Why we use it
We use necessary information to respond to enquiries, arrange inspections, prepare quotes, deliver agreed services, manage customer communications, resolve complaints and meet legal obligations. If required information is not provided, we may be unable to arrange a visit or quote accurately.
Booking contact details are not permission for unrelated marketing. Any marketing will require the relevant consent, identify the sender and offer an effective unsubscribe option in accordance with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). We do not sell personal information.
05 / Photos and permissions
Photos are optional. Only provide images you are authorised to share. Avoid including people, private documents, identifying information about children, security systems or valuables. Project photos are for assessment and preparation; any portfolio, advertising or social-media use requires separate, specific permission. Agreeing to an inspection does not grant publicity rights.
06 / Service providers and overseas handling
Necessary information may be shared with authorised painters, scheduling and messaging providers, hosting and storage providers, professional advisers, or authorities where required or permitted by law. Access is limited to each recipient’s function.
Netlify hosts the website and processes technical request data. Supabase stores inspection records and optional photos in private storage. Resend delivers booking and access emails. Google Workspace handles email sent to our contact addresses. OpenAI processes assistant messages as described below.
These providers may process information outside Australia. Processing locations depend on their service infrastructure and our account configuration. Contact us for information about the handling of your records. We do not seek blanket consent to unrestricted overseas sharing.
07 / Assistant and calendar services
When AI assistance is enabled, your recent chat messages and our service information are sent to OpenAI to generate a reply. We do not include the private owner agenda or booking records. We request that API responses are not stored as conversation state; this does not remove the provider’s applicable security or abuse-monitoring retention. Please avoid sensitive information in chat. Cancellation email addresses entered in the dedicated field are sent to our booking service. The booking form remains available without AI.
The assistant is limited to approved service information and inspection scheduling. It should offer a human alternative for unsupported questions. An assistant response is not a quote, a painting contract or confirmation of a calendar booking. A booking is confirmed only after the connected service successfully reserves the slot and returns confirmation.
08 / Security and retention
The website uses encrypted connections, private photo storage and authenticated access to the owner agenda. No online system can guarantee absolute security.
Booking records and uploaded photos are retained to manage enquiries, inspections and related project records. Cancelling an appointment or allowing a hold to expire does not automatically delete those records. Contact us to request deletion or ask about a particular record. The website does not save a persistent chat history for you; service providers may retain technical or security records under their own policies.
Personal information will be deleted or de-identified when no longer needed for a permitted purpose, unless a legal requirement justifies retention. Where the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme applies, suspected breaches must be assessed and eligible breaches notified to affected people and the OAIC as required.
09 / Your choices and rights
Before submitting, remove a selected photo with its remove control, edit the form, or leave or refresh the page to clear its memory. Information is sent when you submit the form.
Contact us to request access or correction, ask about handling or retention, withdraw optional consent, or request deletion. Requests will be assessed under applicable law; legal record-keeping may limit deletion. Reasonable identity verification may be needed. If a request is refused, reasons and available complaint options should be provided where required.
10 / Complaints and updates
Send privacy questions and complaints to hello@momentoftruth.au. We aim to acknowledge complaints promptly and respond within 30 days. Where the Privacy Act applies, unresolved complaints may be taken to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, subject to its requirements. Other legal rights remain available.
We update this policy when our practices change. The current dated version is accessible through the footer.
